What Flowers Are Included in This Purple Pipe Cleaner Bouquet?
This purple pipe cleaner bouquet is designed with a layered floral structure, combining one statement flower, soft roses, small lilies, hydrangea-style filler flowers, and delicate blue star flowers. Before we start the full tutorial, let’s first look at all the flowers you will need to make for this bouquet.

- 12 × hydrangea flowers as fluffy filler blooms

In the following steps, we will go through each flower one by one, starting from the iris, then moving on to the roses, lilies, hydrangea flowers, and blue star flowers. Once all the individual flowers are ready, we will assemble them into a full purple bouquet.
Step 1: Make the Purple Iris
The iris is the focal flower of this purple pipe cleaner bouquet. For one iris, you will need 3 small petals, 3 medium petals, and 3 large petals, all made with medium purple pipe cleaners.
Make the Iris Petals
For the small petals, fold one pipe cleaner into a frame about two finger widths wide. Bend it downward, then upward into a check-mark shape, then bend it downward again and twist the bottom tightly to secure the frame. Fold the longer end upward and weave it through the frame to fill the open space. Make 3 small petals.
The medium petals are made in the same way, but slightly longer than the small petals. Make 3 medium petals. For the large petals, twist a leaf-shaped frame first, then use the remaining pipe cleaner to fill the inside. Make 3 large petals.
Add the Iris Details
Cut one butter yellow pipe cleaner in half, fold it from the center, and twist it tightly. Then attach a small piece of white yarn onto each large petal, and glue the butter yellow pipe cleaner on top of the yarn to create the iris-style markings.
Assemble the Iris
Attach the flower center, 3 small petals, 3 medium petals, and 3 large petals onto one floral stem. Wrap and secure the base with floral tape, then gently adjust the petals until the iris opens naturally. Now the purple iris is complete.
Step 2: Make the Roses
Each rose is made with 3 small petals and 10 large petals. The small petals form the center of the flower, while the large petals are arranged in two outer layers to create a full blooming rose.
Make the Small Petals
Use half of one pipe cleaner and twist it into three connected loops. These three small loops will become the center petals of the rose.
Make the Large Petals
Each large petal is made with one full pipe cleaner. Twist an oval-shaped frame about two thumb widths wide and two-thirds of a thumb long. Then weave the remaining pipe cleaner through the frame to fill the inside. Every time you reach the edge, wrap the pipe cleaner around the frame once to keep the outline secure. After two rounds, the petal will be fully filled. Make 10 large petals for each rose.
Assemble the Rose
Attach the three small petals to the floral stem first to create the rose center. Then add five large petals around the center as the second layer, followed by another five large petals as the outer layer. Gently adjust the petals until the rose looks full and natural, then wrap the base securely with floral tape.
Step 3: Make the Small Lilies
Each small lily is made with 4 dark purple stamens and 6 white petals. For this bouquet, you will need to make 2 small lilies in total.
Make the Lily Stamens
Cut the dark purple pipe cleaner into 4 pieces: 3 shorter pieces and 1 longer piece, each about one-third of a pipe cleaner in length. Use a lighter to gently shape the tips into small lily-style stamens.
Make the Lily Petals
For each lily petal, use one full white pipe cleaner and three half pipe cleaners. Wrap the three half pieces around the full pipe cleaner, then fold the full pipe cleaner and twist it tightly so the two long ends fall down on both sides. Tie the loose side together, then gently adjust the curve and shape to form one soft lily petal. Make 6 petals for each lily.
Assemble the Lily
Glue the 4 stamens together first, then attach them to one floral stem. Arrange the 6 white petals around the stamens, glue them in place, and wrap the base securely with floral tape. Gently bend the petals outward to create a natural lily shape.
Step 4: Make the Blue Star Flowers
The blue star flowers are one of the smallest filler flowers in this bouquet. For this bouquet, you will need to make 8 blue star flowers using baby blue pipe cleaners.
Make the Flower
Wrap one baby blue pipe cleaner around a hot glue stick five times to form the petals. Twist the bottom tightly to secure the flower, then carefully slide the hot glue stick out from the center. Gently spread the five loops outward until they form a flat five-petal flower.
Glue a faux pearl into the center of the flower using hot glue to complete one blue star flower.
Step 5: Make the Hyacinth Florets
For this bouquet, we only need the small individual flowers from a hyacinth, not a full hyacinth stem. You will need to make 12 hyacinth florets in total.
Make the Hyacinth Florets
Cut one ice blue pipe cleaner in half to create two half-length pieces. Fold each half piece in the middle, then bend both ends inward and twist the base tightly. This will create a small heart-shaped double petal.
Bring two double-petal pieces together to form one hyacinth floret. Glue the flower stamens into the center, then wrap the base securely with floral tape.
Make the Filler Stems
Attach 2 hyacinth florets and 3 blue star flowers onto one floral stem. Arrange them naturally, then wrap the stem all the way down with floral tape to create one soft filler branch.
Make 4 filler stems in total. These filler stems will be placed in the outer layer of the bouquet together with the small lilies.
Step 6: Assemble the Purple Bouquet
Place the iris in the center as the main focal flower. Arrange the 6 roses around the iris as the second layer, using 3 deep purple roses and 3 light purple roses to create a soft purple gradient.
For the outer layer, place the 2 small lilies and the 4 filler stems around the roses. You can arrange them as two filler stems, one lily, two filler stems, and one lily, so the bouquet looks balanced from every angle.
Once you are happy with the shape, use hot glue to secure all the flower stems together at the base. Wrap the handle with the medium-width white ribbon included in the DIY kit, continuing all the way down to the bottom. Secure the end with hot glue.
